To avoid any mold from growing on your air conditioner coils, you need to regularly clean them once in a while. Mold can cause health problems and this is why it should be removed immediately. Removing the filter First of all you will need to remove the air filter and clean it or replace it. For those reusable filters, just soak them in warm, soapy water and let them to soak for a while. Find the coils, fins and fan motor. Cleaning the innards Use a vacuum cleaner and remove any dust and debris from inside the unit.
