Preparing the solution Before you get on the first step is important that you take some safety measures. Always wear gloves and a mask when you have to deal with black mildew. The solution is made by diluting insecticidal soap with water or another substance. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Make sure that you are using the right insecticide for your type of plants. Now pour the solution into a garden sprayer. Always clean the sprayer before use. You may have used it for weed killing. The quantity of insecticide used depends on the plant and of their number. Also size is very important. Now spray the plants in the evening or in a day with clouds. You do not want the plants scorched by the sun. Spraying the insecticidal soap Apply the solution on all affected parts of the plant. Let the solution sit for a few minutes. Never let the solution dry on the leaves. Washing the solution Use clean water and a water hose or sponge to gently clean the mildew. This will also remove the mildew that sits on the plants. Repeat this step is necessary. Let the plant fully dry. Spraying insecticide Now spray the plant with insecticide to assure that all insects that produce the substance that attracts mildew are killed. Sometimes it may not be necessary to use insecticide, because insecticidal soap is quite effective. |
