Raised floors are great in office building where you need to hide cables and wiring and also piping. The cables are put in a special ditch under the floor that houses all of them and offers access whenever needed. These floors are usually made of metal support that can be easily removed if necessary.

HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) systems usually use ceiling ducts to ventilate the rooms. Now it’s getting more popular to move these systems in these raised floors. Why? Because when air came out of the ceiling ducts it was doing a short cycle, meaning that it didn’t quite work well. The air returned to the ducts almost immediately.

Maintenance and reconstruction

Moving the systems in the floors is much cheaper and cheaper to maintain. It’s also easier to work on the floor than on the ceiling. The installation costs may be much higher than ceiling systems, but the maintenance costs male up for it.
