Water in your basement can cause a lot of problems, from water damage to your walls and floor and also to your belongings. You could be spending a lot of money for making the necessary repairs for the basement, so you need, at least, to make sure that you seal all the leaks.
Some of the tools and materials that you will need are:
- Hair dryer
Many basements have floor and wall panels.
It’s possible that you won’t have to remove all the panels, but at least you want to check. Use a crowbar to remove the existing panels. Do not use too much force because you may damage the panels. See if the panels have been affected by the water. If the panels have been affected by the water, then you should remove them all. You can replace them with new ones, or install an insulating material first.
How to dry the wet panels
The trick is air circulation. You can keep the panels inside the basement as long as you install a dehumidifier inside. Let them dry for a few days and then mount them back.
