- Sponge or washcloth
- Water
- Milk
- Window fan
Ventilation
Proper ventilation makes a very effective solution for your mildew problem.
Cleaning
Another effective way to prevent mildew formations is regular cleaning. Once or twice a month try and make time to empty the cabinets and spray them with some mildew cleaner and wipe them with a washcloth. There are also some natural solutions for getting rid or preventing mildew. A mixture of vinegar and water, or boiled milk and water, may be very effective against mildew. Let the cabinets fully dry before putting back the stored objects.
Humidity
Mildew likes moist, shaded and warm places. So without the moisture, mildew has nothing to grow on. One of the most humid places in your home is your bathroom. If you have an exhaust fan installed, use it to reduce the humidity. Turn it on as often as possible, or every time you are taking a shower. If you do not have a fan installed, open the windows.
Window exhaust fans are great for reducing the level of humidity. They are very easy to install and they are very effective.
