Safety measures
Mold and mildew are dangerous for your health and it’s best that you take some safety precautions. The first thing that you can do is assure that the room where you are working is properly ventilated.
Oxygen bleach
The main advantage of working with is that it’s non-toxic. Make a mixture of 50 mil of oxygen bleach and one liter of water. Use any quantities, but in proportional measures. Use hot water only.
Use a sponge or mop and apply the bleach mixture. Then scrub the area thoroughly with a stiff-bristle brush. Rinse the area with hot, clean water. Also use the mop.
Rubbing alcohol
To use rubbing alcohol for mildew removal, you will need to first remove much of the mildew and wash the area. Use hot water and dish soap to scrub the area. Then you can use a sponge and apply some rubbing alcohol. Rinse the area again after you have finished.
Vinegar
If you prefer more natural remedies for removing mildew, then you can use white vinegar. Apply the vinegar on the affected areas and use a scrub brush. After you have cleaned and rinsed the area, allow it to dry. You can also use baking soda and white vinegar. The paste that will be formed needs to be left to sit for about 30 minutes.
Hydrogen peroxide
Using hydrogen peroxide is like using any other cleaning technique. Just apply the solution, let it sit for 15 minutes and then scrub the affected area. Rinse it and you’re done.
