Removing mildew from painted walls
Mildew is one of the most common problems that home owners have to deal with. Because it can spread very fast through out your house, it needs to be dealt with as soon as possible.
Tools and materials:
- Anti-mildew paint
- Plastic scrubber
- Laundry detergent
- Rubber gloves
- Spray bottle
There are many solutions that can be used for mildew removal.
Cleaning the surface
Use a sponge or a wash cloth to scrub the area. You can also use a plastic scrubbing brush. Remove the big parts of the mildew deposit before applying the solution and scrubbing the area.
If the paint surface was affected by the scrubbing, you should repaint the wall. First apply an anti-mildew primer or use a mildew resistant paint.
