Removing the old door

Sometimes you will need to remove also the frame of the screen door. Open it and remove the screws from the hinges. It should come off easily. If the frame isn’t from the same kit as the door, than you may leave it in place if the new door fits.

Measure the door opening. The new door won’t have the same measures but you need to buy one that is as close to those as possible. You should buy a door that is larger in size as you can trim the edges.

Place the new door on the door opening. Measure the places where the hinges will be fitted. You should have at least 3 installed. Install the hinges. You can do this with the help of an electric screwdriver and some screws. Try and use the same holes as the old hinges.

Sometimes doors come with pre-installed handles, brackets, locks or other accessories, but sometimes you will need to install them by yourself. Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer.
