Residential fences
Residential fences are used to mark the limit of a house/property, but also for decoration. There are many types, so you can choose whatever style, colour or size you want! Here are a few types of residential fences, grouped by the material they’re made of.
Wood fences
When it comes to wood fences, there are generally 3 types: picket fences, wood fences for privacy and ranch-style fences.
The fences used for privacy are characterized by the fact that the space between the boards is much smaller and their height measures at least 6 feet. Last, but not least: ranch-style fences. They offer the least amount of privacy and security and are made from vertical posts with wide spaces between them. They’re linked by horizontal boards which have a space of about 1 foot between.
Chain link fences
Their purpose is keeping things in or out of the property desired. They’re made of metal posts which connect chain-link sections crisscross. They are available in a wide range of sizes and colors and are made of aluminum or galvanized steel. If you’re considering this type of fence, keep in mind that it doesn’t offer privacy.
Wrought-iron fences
These are the perfect fences if your main goal is the security of your property. Their structure consists of vertical iron posts spaced and linked by horizontal iron posts. The posts of these fences are set in concrete. If you want a cheaper alternative to the wrought iron that would be aluminum.
Vinyl fences
Vinyl fences represent an alternative to wood fences. Although they’re more expensive than those made of wood, they last longer and are easier to maintain. They can also be used for privacy and regarding their size and color, are similar to those made of wood.
