Stimulate a rose to bloom
Roses are the perfect flower for every garden. So many garden owners try to make their roses bloom more often, but they miss a lot of things that are important for the growing process of the plant. There are a few things that you should know that will surely help you out.
There are some important factors that will help the roses bloom more often. One of these factors is water. Watering the roses is very important. They will need to be watered quite often, when the ground soil becomes a little dry. Also the soil needs to have good drainage. Another factor is the sun. Roses need at least 5 hours of sun per day, especially in the morning. Fertilizers are also very important, but be careful. If you over use fertilizer you will stimulate leaves and plant growing, but not blooms. You should use some home made fertilizers, like banana peels. Because bananas are rich in potassium, they are a great source or nutrients for the flowers.
How to open cut roses
Roses that were cut from your garden will usually have closed petals. Although they are beautiful this way too, they do not offer the same beauty. So what you can do to open them is remove the outer petals if they have dried, and then open the petals one by one, by hand. This will not harm the flower, but it’s important to know how to cut the stem in order for it to resist a longer period of time. You can help them last longer, by adding half a tea spoon of sugar.
You can also let them open by themselves, by placing them in direct sunlight. Or you can place them in a vase with cold water and then, after one hour, in a vase with warmer water. After it has opened, do not let it in direct sunlight.
