Drawing a blueprint
When building a garage, it’s important to have a plan of the building so that the inspector or contractor can view all the details of the construction. Now it’s possible of making a blueprint without the need of an architect or builder. Most of the times, the blueprint is necessary before obtaining the building permit. There are many programs that can help you make a blueprint like you were a professional. With all this, the project still needs to start on the paper.
- To create the layout, you’ll need to purchase a gridded paper and a scale. The scale of 1/4″ = 1′ is mostly used. Draw the foundation and shell of where the garage will be.
- The layout can then be inputed into the program and you can draw even details of electrical and storage options.
- You can continually modify the plan in the program before printed. You may need to make several plans to narrow down the best options.
- The plan may need to be saved to a disk and printed with a special printer, in order to show the correct scale on a larger paper.
You will still have to check the local regulations and codes. So, ask for guidance from a qualified person. The blueprint will show the entire structure of the building so you need to make sure that it’s well made.
