Installing an automatic cabinet door

When you decide you want to install an automatic cabinet door, you need to buy automatic retracting hinges and doors as replacements for the cabinets.

Tools and Materials Needed:

  • Replacement Automatic Cabinet Doors
  • Automatic Door Hinges
  • Screws
  • Screwdriver
  • Drill
  • Drill Bit
  • Masking Tape
  • Replacement Door Hardware

Step1. Removing the old door

Use a screwdriver to remove the old doors from the frames.

Remove the hinges from the wall as well. Consider reusing the good doors for another construction.

Step2. Installing automatic hinges

Take the automated hinges and the screws and install them. If the door is more than 30 inches in length, than install a third hinge. If you need to make some pilot holes, than use a drill. Be careful to position the hinges in a straight line.

Step3. Install the cabinet door

Screw the door to the automatic hinges. Remove any masking tape or instrument that you used for straight positioning.

Step4. Install replacement hardware

Install pulls and handles to help you open and close the door.

These types of doors won’t never slam. They will always retract on their own and close slowly. Test every door.
