Wood cutting
For building a kitchen island cart you will need some plywood and some lumber for framing the island. Use a table saw to cut the plywood in three 22×34 inches pieces for the walls of the cart. Then cut the shelves with the same sizes. Now you will need to cut a 37 inches piece for the top part, from the 1×4 lumber. The face frame needs to be 34 inches in lengths and cut from the 1/2 inch lumber. The doors can be cut from plywood. Cut 4 pieces of 17 1/2 by 27 1/4 inches.
Putting the pieces together
Use glue and nails to fasten the ends of the sides and the back of the frame together. For the shelves use small cleats and nails them to the sides. Fix the shelves to the frame using glue.
Wait for the glue to dry and then sand the excess off.
Now take the 1×4 face frame and secure it to the top of the cart using nails and glue. Do the same think for the other pieces. Then cut the plywood top and attach it to these lumbers.
Finish
Now all you need to do is fill the nail holes with wood putty and sand them. Then sand the entire cart and apply a coat of sealant and stain to make it more resistant and also more stylish. Install the doors.
