Boiler lighting problem
In a central heating boiler system, there are many problems that can occur. Most of them happen due to improper maintenance and because of wear and tear. One of these problems is that the boiler doesn’t light.
Vent pipe
First of all check the vent pipe. This is one of the most common problems for boiler lighting. Remove the blockages if there are any. You may need to remove the vent pipe to clean it properly.
Temperature control
Another cause is the temperature control. Maybe the temperature limiting switch is damaged. This will prevent the boiler from lighting. Check to see if there are any problems with this switch.
Ignition
If the boiler has an electronic ignition switch, you may want to check that too.
Thermocouple
A dirty and faulty thermocouple can also cause the boiler to not light. Clean the unit well and if the problem persists, replace it.
