An even cheaper solution is the use of plywood. The look won’t be the same, but if you do not want to spend a fortune on real wood, then this is the solution. A nice solution to improve the look is to buy a cedar stain that will give it a nicer look. An important disadvantage of plywood is its durability. It will not last as long as cedar. Cedar is known to last even 50 years, so it may be worth to invest more money.
