Preparations
The first step in installing vapor barrier is preparing the basement.
Cutting the sheets
After cleaning the basement, you can start measuring the surface of the basement and then start cutting the sheets. You can cut the barrier in 5 foot sections to be able to handle them better.
Caulk
You will need to apply a line of caulk to be able to fix the barrier for the moment.
Connecting the sheets
After applying the first line of caulk, you can also fix the vapor barrier. For the second sheet, apply another line of caulk. If you are applying a vapor barrier on the wall, start applying it from the ceiling. Continue doing this until you cover the entire area of your home.To fix the final section, you will need to trim it to size to be able to fit it into the waffle board that will be installed around the bottom edge of the basement.
