- New hot water boiler with fittings
- Black threaded pipe
- Copper pipe
- Pipe bending tool
- Sheet metal pipe
- Sheet metal screws
- Safety glasses
Preparing for the installation
First of all choose a nice, level location for the boiler. It needs to sit on a flat surface and also it will need a constant supply of water and gas or electricity. Unpack the installation kit and see if there are missing any components.
Dressing the boiler
You will need to add the pipes that send out heat. If you have different zones in your home, then you will need to have different connections for each zone. Connect a new pipe to the outlet pipe from the boiler. The pipes need to be threaded in order to tighten them with a wrench.
Feed and return pipes
These pipes are the copper ones from the main water pipe. Use a blowtorch to attach them. Ask for a professional’s help. Use special bending tools if you have to. Also connect the boiler to the water tank.
Ventilation is very important. The smoke pipes need to be located close to the boiler. Add extra pipes if necessary for a safer connection. Use some screws to secure them in place.
The final step is to connect the gas line to the boiler. Check the local plumbing codes before you do anything. You may be allowed to use a black threaded pipes from the gas to the water boiler.
Turn on the water at the main lines and let the boiler fill. The feed valve will fill the unit to the correct pressure. For the gas line call a professional to adjust the carbon dioxide output.
