Soundproof ceilingAcoustic ceiling tiles are mainly used for soundproofing a room. If you want to install acoustic tiles, it can be very easy but only if you have already a frame.You need to know that these tiles do not eliminate sounds, they only dampen them and make a room more silent.
Tools and Materials Needed:
- Acoustic Ceiling Tiles (Panels)
- Work Gloves
- Tape Measure
- Drop Ceiling Frame (if necessary)
- Utility Knife
Step1. Measuring the area where you’ll install the tiles
Use a tape measure to see how many tiles you need. Measure the entire ceiling. You can aid yourself by measuring the distance between the frames. If there aren’t any frames installed, you can purchase one and easily install it.
Step2. Purchasing acoustic ceiling tiles
With the measurement go to your local tile store and see if you can find any that will fit your space. If not, you can order some custom ones. Purchase the tiles but in a sufficient number, and a few more just in case. In the installation process they can get damaged and may need to be replaced.
Step3. Installing acoustic ceiling tiles
Using a ladder, just place the tile in the frame space and then let it drop into place. The tiles should be very light and you can finish the installation all by yourself. You should have a flashlight to use it in dark spaces, because some tiles my not fit.
