Spanish roof styles
The Mediterranean style roof isn’t that different from other roofs. Usually there are used red roof tiles, and they are mostly build in areas with strong Spanish influence.
The roof is usually flat or low pitched and covered with tar paper and gravel.
Only the porch is covered with red roof tiles. Because of the low precipitation levels, there is not need to build elaborate roofs. This usually applies for small houses.
Larger homes may include more elaborate roof frame styles, like a hip roof, and also round turrets or barrel roofs. These homes often have red roof tiles that have the appearance of clay roof tiles.
