About flooded crawl spaces
Crawlspaces are usually overlooked by homeowners. Crawlspaces are the spaces between two walls, or between the room floor and the foundation of your home. Crawlspaces, especially floor ones, can get flooded in case of heavy rains or floods.
Using a pump
Because crawlspaces are usually narrow spaces, you won’t be able to take the water out using a bucket. So what you can do is use a pump. If you can find a little portable pump, then you will have the water extracted in no time.
Vacuum
One of the most useful tools for wet basements is a wet and dry vacuum cleaner. It can also be used for a flooded crawlspace, if the water level is low.
How to dry the crawlspace
Although you may have removed the water from the crawlspace, the moisture will still remain. If you do not dry it immediately, it can lead to mold and mildew growth. For this step you can use a dehumidifier. This will remove moisture from the air and collect it in a tank.
