Blocked gutter system

Either the downspouts are too close to the basement wall or the drainage is made towards the house and not away from it, they will still flood your basement. There may be situations when the eavestroughs will fill with debris and all the water will end up right in your basement. All you have to do to fix the problem is to clean them up. If by any chance the eavestroughs fill up very quickly, you should try to replace them with others that are larger and won’t create you this kind of problems.
Some houses may be equipped with a sump pit drainage. If your home has a system like this, you should clean it once a year in order to work properly.
