Sump pump sizes
It’s very important to know what pump size you should buy. It’s important to know the size because of the capacity. A larger pump can deal with larger quantities of water, while a small one with smaller ones.
Because of water infiltration problems a sump pump is always a good addition to your basement. Waterfall is the main cause for water infiltration problems. Your pump should be able to remove a certain number of gallons per minute to be efficient.
The proper size
Standard pumps are most common. These have a 1/3 horse power and can work with 110 volts. There are also 1/4 and 1/2 horse power pumps, but these are smaller and less powerful.
The pump should be able to move 3000 gallons per hour.
